Women’s Wellness and Sexual Health Women, given their natural motherly instinct and nurturing role in the family have over the decades turned more and more to the natural, safe, drug-free and non-surgical approach that chiropractic offers for their families well being. In spite of that many women are not fully aware of the important role that chiropractic care and natural drug free alternatives can play in women’s health through all ages including middle age and later life. The general experience of many women is that women's wellness and sexual health are better with chiropractic care and natural alternatives. Under chiropractic care many women have found help for their worst gynaecological problems such as PMS, menstrual discomfort, cramps, pain, bloating, menopause symptoms, poor sexual response, infertility and more. Simply put strong, interference free communication from the brain and spinal cord to the reproductive system (incl. ovaries, uterus, glands etc) and other organs is essential for optimum functioning and health. As an example, the liver also produces hormones and chemicals vital to proper sexual health. The role of Chiropractors is to help the body perform better by removing any nerve interference due to vertebral subluxations. A vertebral subluxation can affect your nerves, spinal cord, brain and impact joints, ligaments, muscles, internal organs, and other tissues causing disturbed body function, lack of energy, lowered resistance to disease, premature aging and even loss of height. For a woman, uncorrected subluxations may cause dysfunction in her sexual organs leading to hormone and body chemistry changes. Alteration in the relationship between the ovaries, tubes, uterus and other body structures may cause dysfunction and decline in sexual health. Many women find that chiropractic care helps. Current estimates suggest that up to 90% of women suffer from some form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) with some 10 -20% experiencing severe or disabling symptoms. Chiropractic care is not listed as a treatment for PMS, however many women who value natural and drug free assistance find that removal of subluxations restores normal nervous system function and helps the body work the way it was naturally intended to. Many women with spinal distortions often see an improvement in their reproductive health while under chiropractic care.
